How do I unlock a PDF?

Do I need the password to unlock?
If the PDF has an open (user) password, you need it to decrypt the file. If the PDF only has restrictions (printing, copying) but opens without a password, those restrictions can often be removed without one.
What is the difference between a user password and an owner password?
A user (open) password prevents anyone from opening the file. An owner (permissions) password restricts what you can do after opening — like printing or copying. Both types can be removed with our tool if you have the correct credentials.
